More Info on the Belly Band
Hi… Just an “FYI”, I have to tell you about a jewel of a find… the perfect first piece for my maternity pregnancy clothing… it’s called a belly band. Not only could I wear my un-pregnant slacks n’ jeans longer into the pregnancy but I could wear my pre-pregnancy pants, my maternity pants will now stay up where they are supposed to and they offer enough extra support to help me make it through the day. I stand on my feet all day at work and having the Bella Bands have been nothing short of a lifesaver for me!
I have to admit that I was very skeptical; I bought a cheap brand, early on, and then borrowed three Bella brand bands from a girlfriend. I had to buy my own; the Bella bands were far superior — they are thicker, better made, and provide better support as I got further into my pregnancy. At 26 weeks, they gave me some support as well as helping to hold up the pants that I should have given up for the next size.
The only downside to the bands is that with dress slacks (which often have a shinier material than jeans/khakis) I find the Bella Band slides more and doesn’t always stay put so I am often adjusting it. This minor inconvenience is still worth it for me being able to wear my familiar old pants and the comfort it gave me that I was looking my best.
Wear the Bella Band concealed, or let it peek out from under your top for that hip, layered look. If your top rises, it looks like a t-shirt or camisole — not a funky mechanism to expand your waistband or hold up your pants. Wear your non-pregnant girl pants a little longer and those cute maternity fashions a little sooner. Have more clothes to choose from during your pregnancy and after you give birth, enjoy getting dressed every day, and feel confident with how you look. You’re pregnant! Have fun! Now go out and play.
